Father and Daughter
The family in the depths of Broken Bow

This last weekend started the tradition of camping for many years to come. We packed up and headed to Broken Bow Oklahoma. On the way up there in Durant this very unkept man ran into the back of our Tahoe...of course I was upset since I had just gotten the car. I felt a lot better when he pulled out his insurance card and switched information with us. ( I later have found out that he had no insurance and my hard earned dollar will be fixing the dent in my bumper). We did not let this put a damper on our excitement. We stayed at the Broken Bow lodge, seeing as how we are not quite ready to spend the night in a tent with Paxton and Mackey. It was so relaxing! I even finished one of my scandalous books from Shay...thanks Shay! It was so great at the camp site with Big Daddy and Grandma's camper, complete with very small bathroom. Luckily we were right by the playground and Drew and Paxton played there almost no stop. I had way to many smores and deemed myself smore maker:) Saturday we went on a train ride through a great little forest area of BB, deer were coming right up to the train. The train ride followed up by a steak dinner was the big excitement of Saturday. I LOVED THE R&R. I cannot wait till we can do the tent thing, especially since it took us 3 hours to get our children to bed both nights...sorry to the people around us:) Many memories will be formed at my camping sights throughout Texas and surrounding states. We look forward to the many adventures that await the Cox family and camping.

The adorable cake
The diaper cake
The girls at Fajita night
Abbey, Kate/Annabelle, Tiff, Sarah, and me/Mackey
Mackey was worn out, she fell asleep in the baby lounge chair
Welcome Baby Addison. Future Fighting Texas Aggie!! We celebrated the upcoming birth of baby Addison Wall. The weekend was jam packed of fun and fellowship. Kate and Baby Anabelle fly up Friday and we put our creative skills to use and made a diaper cake...it turned out cute, Good idea Kate!!! We traveled to Abbey's house Saturday to enjoy cake and baby present opening, which is always fun, especially when it involves a baby girl:) Later that afternoon the troops headed to our house (which I know it seems like is in Oklahoma, but I promise we are a good hour from the border:o) for some fajitas. It was a great weekend in which we enjoyed cake, fajitas, and friends.

SueSue and GG with the kids on our Galleria day
Paxton being eaten by a hippo
Mackey thinks because Paxton is diaperless, she should be too. Paxtonhas started to think about the potty. I think he says I need to sit on teh potty because he can take off his diaper.

This week has been a CRAZY and LONG week. Rusty has been out of town all week!!!

Sat: We all (PatPat, SueSue, GG, and the Cox 4) to the Arboretum for family pics. Oh wait that 10% chance of rain was all day storms. We made lemonade and went to the Galleria for some toy stores, the play area, and some Grand Lux food- which was very good! It ended up being a good day followed by a very stressful Aggie game that night.

Sun: I worked and came home to Danny and Jessica keeping the kids since Rusty had left for Boston. Which was a trip I was not up for and I am sure that Renee was not either.

Mon: LOTS of house cleaning. I get the best cleaning and organizing done while Rusty is gone. That night was ended by the Shulls taking care of me and my kids for dinner. Thanks Shulls...sorry that Paxton and Mackey completely baby proofed your house.

Tuesday: I finally got the courage to withdraw Paxton for Mother's Day Out. I know it is great for most people. But I guess another year will be better, I felt like I never saw Paxton and I missed him. They were very understanding and made my decision easier. It would have been great if I could have afforded to send them both, but it was more stressful having Mac be sad her BFF was gone.

Wednesday: Oh..I am feeling really good about my parenting skills and organization, kids in the car looking cute and on my way to pick up GG for bible study. Oh wait...did I leave the car door open all night and the battery is dead now. ARE you kidding me??? I go though list of guys names some I know well, some I have talked to a couple times walking in the neighborhood. No one is available except for poor Tab who is in Frisco. Wonder Woman neighbor to the rescue. We are super girls this morning. We put the car in neutral and push it down the inclining drive-way and manage to stop it just before the grass. We jump the car and then off to get GG's new glasses, we manage to stop at the McDonald's playground first.

Thursday: We meet Paxton's bestest friend ever "Bents" a.k.a. Brant. We go to Bill Bates Pumpkin Farm in Celina. It was beautiful as always but a huge beating on the moms. Mackey and Morgan being carried and Brant and Paxton running like wild geese all over the place. I needed a nap, but instead we meet Jessica and Shay at " The Zone". We show these two (Jessica and Shay) a really good time. Or should I say that Paxton and Brant show them a good time. There was crackers and pizza dip with Root Beer all over the place. But as though it had not been a long enough day we decided to stay and play at the Bounce Houses a while. When we got home PatPat had fixed the lawn mower tire (long story- has to do with the car door being open)
and I was free to mow the acre and half. Luckily PatPat took Paxton to play with Scooter and Mackey slept long enough for me to get the lawn mowed. Whew...what a day!

Friday: We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Kate and AnnieB. We have to store up energy for the BIG Melissa Homecoming game.

The Cox Four
Our family who came to support Rusty
Sweet Pea with her daddy
Our precious Mac...notice the bottom two teeth. She is also saying Mama and Dada!!!
What Paxton did during the ceremony since there was no childcare. Thanks parents for taking turns to watch them.
All the couples in our class who were also honored.

This Sunday Rusty was ordained to be a deacon at the First Baptist Church of McKinney. We are so proud of him. He is a man of God who serves his God, family, and church. It was a sweet time of blessing as Rusty and I were prayed over by other deacons, church leaders, and friends and family. It was a special time that we will not forget. We are excited about continuing our leadership roles at the church and also seeing the new places that God puts us in individually and as a family. Right now Rusty teaches every Sunday in the high school and I am the two year old coordinator. That has been interesting but why not when you have to teach because your child hates the nursery. Rusty and I have been truly blessed in our church and community and look forward to many more years here. We are so proud of our daddy!!!

Class of 1997

This last weekend was Rusty's BIG 10 Year Reunion. For a small class of 77 people there were many familiar faces and great memories shared. Friday night we went and cheered the 0-4 Cardinals on (though they lost) and then went to the Fill in Station Bar right behind the Exxon in the metropolis of Liberty City. The cloud of smoke made it hard to enjoy so we headed to the White's house for some catching up. Saturday we went to the park and Rusty and Shane made hot dogs for everyone. That night we went to the Back Porch and enjoyed hamburgers and singing. Who knew Rusty, Shane, and Caleb were such great singers...Gangster's Paradise was the song of choice. It was quite the crowd entertainer. Shortly after midnight Saturday is when the fun began. Rusty, Paxton, and I all fell prey to a deadly virus. We were all sick on our death beds. Luckily Rusty felt well enough Sunday afternoon to drive us home. It took me a little longer to heal. Instead of feeling like I was hit by a semi , today I only feel like a small Ford Ranger truck hit me. Paxton and Mackey...they both a diarrhea, this is a time when you are sad that you have two in diapers. We are blowing through them today. That is what has been up with us lately. Lots of fun and lots of sickness.

Halloween overalls with candy corn
My favorite outfit...I love it so much I don't want Mackey to spit up on it!
Football Dress..."Go Cardinals"
Stop me!!! I am out of control. Whitey, I have fulfilled our dream of me finally learning to sew. I sat down about 4 days ago determined to beat the machine. This Thursday a couple of girlfriends came over for ME to teach them to sew. It's amazing..a couple of days worth of sewing and I am up to my ears in dresses but most importantly ideas. I can barely keep up with myself. These are three of my latest attempts. I am addicted!!! I have been staying up way too late. The last red and white dress will have "Cardinals" embroidered on it for Mackey to wear to the football games. Stop me someone I am out of control.

Cutie Pootie
Today was Paxton's first day of Mother's Day Out. I am not sure who it was harder on Paxton or his mom. He had his new backpack, his lunch, and nap sack. I was so proud of him. He did great until we got to the gate and then he cried a little. I had a lump in my throat as I left. I know that it is good for him... But I have been with him almost everyday for 2 years. I think Mackey had a hard time too! She is so used to playing with him all the time. When we got back to the house it was so quite. We missed him, but I know that he had so much fun. When I went to pick him up I had M&M's, a new Mickey Mouse movie, and a Sonic drink. Do you think he is loved??? My little baby is becoming a boy:)

My newest project...pillow top dresses. I know Becky I have a long way to go.
Friday night football. Paxton loved the sights and sounds. He even saw his babysitters in the band and got to touch their instruments.
The Gang

Paxton at the Pump It Up Junior in Plano. We went there wit ha big group of girlfriends and their children.
Mackey already hitting on Paxton's friend Brant. I am already working on arranging this marriage.
Paxton and Mackey playing together in the bounce house. He was showing her the ropes.

Rusty and I at Legacy Town Center in Frisco.
We had a big reunion with Rusty's cousins from Oklahoma who have never just had a weekend of fun. They all came down and the girls enjoyed shopping while I think the guys played a million Madden Football Games. We were actually able to get them off the PlayStation long enough to have a nice dinner.
Mackey in her ballerina photo shoot. She was not very patient.

I worked one weekend and Rusty took the kids to Liberty City for some R and R. This is the first picture with the grandparents were one child is not going nuts.
Mackey focusing on her standing.
A little Guitar Hero never hurt anyone. When Tonya and Randy come up we always have a little guitar hero loving.

We have been so busy lately...

Rusty flew to NYC this last week and went to the NY Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox Game. He sat a couple of rows back from Cameron Diaz and Amanda Peet. Lucky him! Thursday Rusty and I with the kids went to Canton and just had fun hanging out. All we bought was a wreath...!!! Lucky Rusty. Then to top of Rusty's week he went with his bosses and Danny White to the A&M vs. Montana game. Though he wasn't crazy about their performance he enjoyed meeting up with all his college friends and tailgating, he said his bosses were BLOWN away by the Aggie atmosphere.

I have been into sewing lately. A decided to make Whitey proud. I have only ventured into pillow top dresses but I have LOTS of ideas a brew'in. I have been resale shopping for winter clothes for the kids and of course seem to be doing house keeping all the time. I am waiting patiently to put out fall decorations. Somehow I feel like fall things will make me not realize the 100 degree weather.

Paxton...Good ole'Paxton. He starts Mother's Day Out this week. I will be staying close. Hopefully he will transition well. Because Paxton is Paxton he decided this

week to get the enormous bumps on the side of his neck. I watched them literally grown over night. There is something about being an RN and not being able to reason with yourself about anything that involves your family. We went to the Dr. on Wednesday and it became the longest day ever. They did a lot of blood work to rule out cancer. I held it together pretty well and then after 4 hours of waiting I became a mess. The results are in and they all looked great. I was so pleased that on Friday he had a 102 fever and so finally the verdict was that he had a virus. Hopefully the fever will be gone (I know the lymph nodes will take awhile to go down) by Tuesday for our big school day. He is talking a mile a minute and it has been so funny to see his personality coming out.

Mackey. Sweet Mackey. She concentrates so hard to stand. She can pull up like a professional but the getting down is still hard for her. She has one bottom tooth and is eating everything in sight. She is so sweet until you cross her. She has a very quick temper. She LOVES her brother and keeps hanging around him even when he pulls her and throws things at her. I cannot wait to see how our time is spent together on Tuesdays and Thursdays as we have time special time together.
